                                The department of Physics was established in the academic year 1986-87. It offers
                                general course to the students. From the academic session 2018-19, the department
                                follows the CBCS syllabus of the University of Calcutta. Headed by a vastly experienced
                                and well qualified faculty, the department boasts of very good passing percentage in the
                                university examinations. The central library has a vast number of books on the subject
                                that caters to the immediate as well as long term interest of the students. The
                                laboratory of the department is state of art and fully addresses the needs of the
                                students. The faculty-student relationship is exemplary.
                                
LABORATORY FACILITIES
                                
                                    - Twenty students can perform experiments in the practical class.
 
                                    - Almost all the experimental setup are available in the laboratory. Expensive and
                                        complex equipments include Oscilloscope, Digital Conductivity Meter, Hydraulic
                                        Pellet.
 
                                    - There is the set up for Dielectric Constant Measurement at different
                                        frequencies.
 
                                    - Electronic experimental set ups are available.
